Mining started in 1930; the processing plant is in Fernwood, Idaho. Deposits are an almandine Garnet with excellent properties for use in waterjet applications. Westjet Garnet is crushed, precision screened and washed, providing a super clean waterjet abrasive garnet. The grain hardness of Westjet Garnet adds to its cutting ability, providing exceptional cutting speed, a minimal kerf variance and a better edge finish, without a change to in machine speed.

Westjet Garnet is minded by Emerald Creek Garnet from creek beddings in the Fernwood, Idaho area, USA. Westjet Garnet is washed with fresh water in a state-of-the-art washing facility. Because of this special process, Westjet is one of the cleanest abrasives for waterjet cutting.
