To serve the primary cast iron refining process, Tecnosulfur offers a complete line of desulfurization agents for application in the melting processes performed in cupola furnaces. They are manufactured on a customized basis to operate per the requirements of each step. The products consist of calcium oxide, calcium carbide, calcium fluoride, and others.

The primary purpose of the Tecnosulfur line of desulfurization agents is to remove sulfur from metal, resulting in fine steel. Applied through the Gasal system, they consist of the desulfurization agent in coinciding streams of metal/slags in a siphon ladle with stirring by inert gas. Advantages include lower specific consumption, high rates of desulfurization, high treatment speed, and low cost per treated ton.
